Using digital photography as a tool for looking in the garden

Garden Pictures - the more you look the more you see

I like to use digital photography as a tool for looking. It can be, for me, almost as focussed and intense a process as drawing or painting. The more you look, the more you see. Freed from the financial constraints of film, I can \'snap away\' to my hearts content, looking more and more closely. I see \'everyday\' plants made extraordinary by light, shadow, dew and frost. I see tiny, hairy, sticky things, live things and dead things, imperfect, gone to seed, past their best things - In my opinion so much more beautiful and interesting than bland, colour manipulated perfection. So grab your digital camera, go out in the garden and take a closer look!
